In the silent face-to-face that at first glance the photographs of Eric Poitevin impose, little by little a rich dialogue is instigated with the history of art. They nourish memories and sometimes subsequent associations as they are imprinted on the sensitive surface of the mind. (...) The image asserts its autonomy by isolating the object that creates its own space, foreign to the sensitive experience, despite the choice of formats that respect the 1: 1 scale. Dans le face-à-face silencieux qu’imposent de prime abord les photographies d’Eric Poitevin, s’instille peu à peu un dialogue riche avec l’histoire de l’art. Elles nourrissent des souvenirs et des associations parfois ultérieures tant elles s’impriment sur la surface sensible de l’esprit. (…) L’image affirme son autonomie par l’isolement de l’objet qui crée son espace propre, étranger à l’expérience sensible, et ce malgré le choix des format qui respectent l’échelle 1:1.
